City of Steamboat Springs Permit Information

If you are planning an event that requires two or more City services or that proposes to close a City street, or use a City-owned venue a Special Activity Permit is required. All special event permits must be turned in no later than 45 days before the event. A full list of city-owned venue spaces is available here

Liquor Licence 

Any event that will be selling alcohol will be required to apply for a Special Event Permit for a temporary liquor license. Please check out the rules and regulations of serving liquor at your event. 

Vendors 

Is your event going to include any vendors? All vendors must complete a City of Steamboat Springs Tax Form to be turned in to the City of Steamboat Springs no later than 2 weeks prior to your event. Please contact Amy Camilletti; City of Steamboat Sales Tax Clerk for additional questions.

Food Vendors 

All food vendors need to complete a Routt County Department of Environmental Health Special Activity Permit and turn it into the Routt County Board of Health. If you have any questions about the requirements to operate a temporary food service establishment please call them directly, (970)870-5588. 

Routt County Permit Information 

If your event takes place in an area outside of the City of Steamboat Springs or requires the use of county roads, you may be required to obtain a Routt County Special Event Permit.
